I appreciate the responses here and I’m glad that I’ve placed my last 2 points in this article.

As of now, except for theories selling itself well, I’ve never seen a successful scrum setup. Maybe scrum doesn’t suit the Asian work culture.

What I could say right now is that whoever wants to implement scrum will have years of pain and regrets.

Honestly, if something is good, it shouldn’t be hard to adapt. What is amusing is that after multiple retrospectives, teams usually stabilized at a framework that resembles Kanban or waterfall.

And I will challenge anyone’s understanding of waterfall if they say that in waterfall, you only see results after 6 months or at the end. That is so untrue. It is taking the theory Vs theory instead of practical Vs practical. Practically, at least at the location I am working at, scrum only enriches the agile coaches and the scrum masters.

People will be better off starting off with Kanban if they want to try agile.
